about jacob and louise

We have spent most of our lives on the Leelanau Peninsula. You will find us and our children on woodland walks and shoreline rock hunts throughout every season. Our cherished memories and wonder always find a way into our work.  

Jacob and Louise is a fusion of our childhood memories, middle names, and family memories. While I (Louise) make and create, our children are at the heart of it all. Sharing in their wonder is the best gift of parenthood. We create slowly as a brand because this time with them is precious and, like everyone always says, goes very fast.

With backgrounds in education and technology, collaboration between each other and our children is essential to our process. I create designs and art inspired by everything water, woods, and wonder, with a special place in my heart for the Leelanau Peninsula.

We are mindful of the materials and printing companies used in our small home studio on 3rd generation farmland. We ship with Noissue and Econoclose shipping supplies and support other USA businesses.
